Nationally 546 people are waiting for beds with INMO figures showing 396 are in emergency departments, while 150 are in wards.
University Hospital Limerick is the worst affected by overcrowding, with 91 patients on trolleys.
That's followed by 66 at Cork University Hospital, and 46 at Sligo University Hospital.
