CUH have been confirmed as the second most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today, where 54 patients are waiting on trolleys.
Meanwhile, in the Mercy Hospital, 32 patients are waiting for a bed.
It comes after the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation called on the HSE for a third time to intervene and take action on the crisis. The INMO have said that the amount of people waiting on trolleys is coming close to winter figures, and that the lack of help from the HSE is inexcusable.
Overall, there are 529 patients in hospitals nationwide waiting for a bed, including 105 in University Hospital Limerick.
