Cork University Hospital has thanked 6 year-old Adam King after he raised €133,000 for the building of the Neonatal Sanctum at the hospital
Adam's virtual hug cards went on sale through Supervalu just in time for Valentine's Day and he has split the money raised from their sale between CUMH and Temple Street.
The young boy from Killeagh has been treated in both hospitals after he was born with a rare condition that causes stunted growth and brittle bones.
The neonatal sanctum will be a structure in the CUMH garden for parents to take a baby in palliative care, or for a seriously ill mother to access.
