A village just outside of Macroom has been awarded €68,750 as part of the County Council's Village Enhancement Fund.
Clondrohid will benefit from improvement works worth €50,750 as part of the Macroom Municipal District 2021 Programme, with an additional €18,000 for speed safety measures.
Enhancement works completed already in Clondrohid include a new resurfaced set down area for the local school and creche, pollinator friendly planting, new seating at the GAA grounds, seating at Curragh Road, a popular local route for walkers, and equipment for the local Age Friendly group.
Mayor of the County of Cork. Cllr. Danny Collins commented:
“The Village Enhancement Scheme has a hugely positive impact in rural areas, by improving the infrastructure, the appearance and the facilities of our villages. It is a wonderful example of Cork County Council collaborating with hard working community groups to enhance and improve our rural areas and the quality of life for everyone.”
