Met Eireann has also updated its orange alert, with 14 counties in the bottom half of the country set to be impacted.

The rest of the country will come under a yellow wind, snow and rain warning

Cork City's Flood Assessment team will meet this afternoon to review the latest modelling ahead of the arrival of the Storm which may result in some pooling of water in low lying areas but significant flooding is not expected

An update is expected to be issued from the team following this afternoon's meeting when further guidance will also be issued and council crews will be mobilised to respond to any call out sand emergency teams will be on standby

A yellow wind, rain and snow warning has been issued for the rest of the country.

However, Met Eireann says it's possible those warnings could be upgraded following a meeting being held this morning.

Forecaster Gerry Murphy says while snow will cause some disruption in parts, the wind coming in is a major concern:

"More significantly than overall is the wind. Now the wind is gonna get very strong overnight along the south and the west coast. And then those very strong winds will turn to a northwesterly direction and it'll become extremely strong right across the country tomorrow morning."
