The County Council has announced that Christmas lights in many towns and villages in the county will be switched on at 7pm this Thursday

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley is inviting everyone to shine a light in the spirit of A Real Cork Christmas this Thursday, November 12th.

Christmas lights across many towns and villages will be turned on at 7.00pm with homeowners and businesses asked to turn on their lights in a show of solidarity across the county.

Cork County Council has recently launched ARCC, A Real Cork Christmas, designed to support businesses and communities as they deal with the ongoing restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Everyone is asked to share a picture of their light by posting to social media using the hashtag #ARealCorkChristmas.

A Real Cork Christmas is an extension of the Council’s successful Project ACT, which was established earlier in the pandemic to make a direct, positive difference to individual communities.
