The President of Cobh and Harbour Chamber, hopes Cork will get the opportunity to host the America's Cup at some point in the future.
The government last night announced it's withdrawing its bid for Cork to host the international sailing competition in 2024.
The Ministers for Tourism and Sport said while the event would have been a huge boost for tourism, the level of investment required to deliver the infrastructure was too high.
Johanna Murphy, President of Cobh and Harbour Chamber, hopes another bid will be successful in the future.
