A Cork man who used drugs for almost half his life says help is available for anyone who needs to come to terms with addiction.
Co-host of the Two Norries podcast Timmy Long spent up to twenty years addicted to alcohol and drugs before entering recovery 10 years ago.
The Churchfield man now runs a successful property maintenance company that hires other people in recovery.
Speaking to RedFM News to mark International Recovery Day this week, Timmy says anyone turning up to an addiction recovery meeting is treated with the utmost care and respect:
"You'll find the nearest meeting to you. Go to it and people will open their arms to greet you and help you in any way they can. Any newcomer into an AA or an NA meeting are the most cared for person in that room, because they don't know whether they're coming or going at that moment. And to go into an AA meeting, an NA meeting, there's a lot of fear."
