Patrick O'Sullivan is hoping to become the first Corkman to represent Ireland at the Eurovision in 43 years.
Cathal Dune came fifth in the song test in 1979 with his song Happy Man.
Patrick from Ballinlough will perform his song One Night, One Kiss, One Promise on the Late Late Show tonight.
The song is written by Nicky Byrne and Danny O'Reilly from the Coronas.
Patrick told RedFM he met Nicky while performing on the Last Singer Standing.
"He had been doing some writing sessions with Danny O'Reilly from the Coronas and Lar from All Tvvins, and they were kind of developing their song at the same time.
"And then once the show it aired, Nicky kind of came to me and said look, 'we've got kind of a crazy idea we have this song and after hearing you singing it we think it could be a really good cool, contemporary fit for Eurovision, what you like to do it?'
"And of course I said absolutely yes!"
