A young Cork producer and songwriter who took part in Irish Music month in March on Cork's RedFM has been selected as a finalist in a national talent search to find "A New Local Hero"
23 year-old Darian June released her debut single "Prom Queen" last year followed by "Love Ain't As Cool"
She entered the competition on Cork's RedFM and has now made it through as one of six finalists from around the country who will perform in the live finale of A New Local Hero at the Academy in Dublin on April 25th next.
25 radio stations nationwide put forward a singer for the live finale and the overall prize is 10,000 euro and guaranteed radio airplay across the country.
The 19 artists that didn't make it to the final are in with a chance to be crowned the winner of the Wild Card Award.
Darian June will also be performing tonight at Red FM's exclusive gig with Moncrieff at Cyprus Avenue
