The Shakey Bridge is hoping to sway judges for a prestigious global award.
The suspension bridge has been shortlisted for an international engineering award alongside Court no 1at Wimbledon, a futuristic megastructure at a Bejing airport, and a Colombian skyscraper.
Past winners of the award include Sydney’s Opera House, the Pompidou Centre in central Paris, and the Severn Bridge in the UK.
The iconic Shakey bridge features in the structural heritage category.
The winning projects will be announced in November.
