The County Council's Library and Arts Service have announced the return of the annual Teen Literature Festival.
The festival is set to take place in November, including events like 'One County One Book', online book discussions and creative writing workshops.
Over 1,500 students will have the opportunity to join sessions and discussions with authors like Louise O'Neill, Mary Watson and Sue Divin.
Creative writing workshops will be offered by Graffiti Theatre Company, a Cyber Safety talk for students and an ‘Eat Smart@School’ online health talk with dietician Gillian McConnell.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Danny Collins welcomed the return of the festival for 2022:
“Libraries play a fundamental role in our communities as gateways to knowledge and culture. They help create many opportunities for our young people for learning and education and help shape future ideas. I would strongly encourage our young people to get involved and engage with this year’s Teen Literature Festival.”
Events are being funded by Creative Ireland, Cork County Council Library’s LGBTQI literature programme.
