Council crews have been out across the city and county since early morning as the clean-up operation gets underway following Storm Barra.
The City Council say they are aware of 20 fallen trees, while Fire Crews responded to 24 emergency calls yesterday.
The Council also say that no one was injured as a direct result of the storm.
A status Yellow wind warning is in place for Cork and road users are being advised to use extreme caution as they may encounter spot flooding and fallen trees and power lines.
Speaking to RedFM News, David Joyce from Cork City Council says he expects crews will have the majority of the city cleaned up later this morning.
"We have been out since 6am this morning, we have had street crews out cleaning up the roads, cleaning up the litter, cleaning up the bits and pieces that have come off various bits and pieces across the city.
"They are going to assure that by the time people get into the city that it will be pristine and fully functional again.
"We will also have road crews out looking at drainage across the city.
"We are out, and we will continue to be out across the city to ensure that any damage that may have been done or any of the litter or detritus is cleaned up as quickly as possible."
