Council tenants with mouldy, damp homes in Mayfield will protest outside the City Hall this evening.
The Community Action Tenants Union is demanding increased spending on the maintenance of public housing.
This evening's protest which starts at 5 o’clock coincides with the council’s budget confirmation meeting.
Speaking to RedFM News, Michael Sheehan from the Community Action Tenants Union says tenants don’t feel their complaints are taken seriously:
"We door knocked about 2000 homes in Mayfield and the level of mould and damp, it's quite stressful and it's definitely coming into the winter as well. Rats is a huge issue because of large swathes of estates that are left unmaintained. But the main issue that we hear on the doors and from our members is the fact that the council doesn't take their complaints seriously."
