The County Council has advised against bathing in several of Cork's most popular beaches from Sunday - due to the wet and windy weather forecast.
They have issued a Prior Warning Notice for Garretstown; Coolmaine; Inchydoney East and West; Warren; Oysterhaven, Tragumna; Barleycove; Cadogan's Strand; Red Strand and Ballyrisode.
A Prior Warning Notice advises the public not to swim in certain areas due to an expected decrease in the quality of bathing water.
Heavy rain can result in short term pollution events when run-off from fields, gardens, roads and houses deposits into bathing waters.
