The County Council are warning listeners that road conditions across all of Cork are currently treacherous.
They say black ice has developed on many roads and surfaces - because of fluctuating and dropping temperatures following overnight rainfall - in the period between salting runs.
The worst affected areas include Nadd, Newmarket, Ballydesmond, Rockchapel, Kanturk, Banteer, & Millstreet , but many other areas of the county are also affected.
They are advising motorists to exercise extreme caution.
