A crew of four people on board a 40-foot yacht have been rescued after suffering mechanical difficulties off the coast of Cork.
The Courtmacsherry Lifeboat was called into action shortly after 4.30am.
It reached the yacht, 21 miles south east of the Old Head of Kinsale, shortly before 6am.
The yacht was experiencing mechanical difficulties on its journey from Spain to Cobh while battling furious weather.
RNLI crew members decided to connect a tow cable and brought the yacht back to shore, it arrived at Courtmacsherry at around 8:30am.
This has been the third callout in the last three days with a search for a reported missing swimmer off Garrettstown on Thursday, who subsequently had got to shore themselves and the rescue of a 13ft RIB with one person on board on the same day.
