Uisce Éireann says up to 100 homes in the Killavullen to Rockforst area are affected by following a burst to a watermain in the village.
As a result customers in the area may experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply.
Crews have been able to reconfigure the network to maintain supply to customers in Killavullen Village.
Dedicated water service crews are on the ground and repair works are expected to be completed by 4pm this afternoon.
It typically takes 2 to 3 hours following the estimated restoration time for normal water supply to fully restore to all areas, especially those on higher ground.
Uisce Éireann’s Cormac Bergin assured customers that crews are working as quickly as possible to repair the burst:
“We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we would like to thank impacted customers in the Killavullen area for their patience while we work on repairs and restore the water supply as quickly as possible.”
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
