The hospital say they are managing a surge in Covid-19 related admissions along with a general increase in emergency presentations at the hospital.
Visiting restrictions remain in place at CUH this evening amid a sharp increase in the number of positive cases of Covid being reported nationally.
The hospital have also said they are experiencing an increase in the volume of calls to the main switchboard and say it is imperative that the operators focus on emergency or priority calls.
