Organisers of Culture Night say they expect the city to packed with people enjoying events this evening.
150 free events and exhibitions will be taking place across the city and people can take free "culture buses" with performers on board to get around.
A wide variety of events are planned this evening including tours of the Freemasons Hall on Tuckey Street and live music and stalls in the English Market
Exhibitions and live events are also running across the county in towns such as Passage West, Charleville, Youghal and Bandon
Speaking to RedFM News, Events Co-ordinator of Culture Night in the city, Marcella Whelan-Kelly says they expect the night to be busy
"Everything is free on Culture Night but you do need tickets for some events. Now a lot of those ticketed events, at this point are booked, but the whole concept of Culture Night is about wandering around, sticking your head around the door, finding out what a place is about. Most of our events don't require booking and all events are free"
