Angela Lansbury should be admired for her long acting career, but also how she paused it to deal with family issues.

That's according to family friend, Ballymaloe Cookery School Chef Darina Allen.

The Murder She Wrote star spent five months staying in East Cork in the 1960s.

Angela Lansbury's family says she passed away peacefully in her sleep in Los Angeles on Tuesday, just five days before her 97th birthday.

She was best known for starring in 'Murder, She Wrote' and as Mrs. Potts in 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Darina says Angela loved to visit Cork and spent time there when her children got caught up with drugs.
