Gardai are treating as a tragic accident the death of a toddler after he was struck by car in a driveway of a house in West Cork.
The 18 month old boy was rushed to Cork University Hospital after the incident which happened just outside Skibbereen around 5pm yesterday evening.
The little boy had serious injuries and Gardai say he later passed away in hospital.
A post mortem is expected to take place later today and an investigation has been launched but the guards are treating his death as a tragic accident.
