The owners of the building Debenhams operated from on Patrick Street have been given permission to bring proceedings against the retailer's Irish arm.

The Irish Examiner reports the High Court was required to give permission because Debenhams Irish business is in liquidation.

Kilmaloda Ltd are seeking declarations that the lease has been terminated and is further seeking an order in relation to unpaid rent.

The rent for the Patrick street store was €814,000 every three months
