A decision on a planning application by Apple to expand it's operations in Hollyhill is due next month.
The expansion, which will have capacity for 1,300 employees, will be constructed within the car park at Apple’s Hollyhill campus and would connect to an existing office building.
Vice President of the company’s European Operations, Cathy Kearney says they are thrilled to accelerate their investments here as they grow their team and expand the campus.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says it is evidence of the company’s strong commitment to Cork and endorsement of Ireland as a prime location for leading global technology firms to grow.
Apple currently has around 6,000 employees in the city.
