The news comes as the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland- which is the voice of US multinationals in the country - is hosting a conference in the city this morning
Cork is home to some of the world's leading US multinationals as the city has proven to be a great location globally because of the high quality of education and talent pool available
Speaking to RedFM News Mark Redmond of American Chamber of Commerce Ireland says companies such as Pepsi-Co, Boston Scientific and Dell have already announced expansion plans in the Cork region this year
"It's a really good news story. Cork has got a global significance and I think the key issue quite frankly for the American Chamber is that Cork and Ireland continues to expand its capacity to absorb inward investment. So of course, I'm talking about residential accommodation, and talking about the Cork/Limerick M20, completing the Ringaskiddy motorway, all these important infrastructure projects are vital if we are to continue to win jobs and investment for Cork"
