A detector dog sniffed out over €41,000 worth of illegal cigarettes and tobacco after a search of two properties in the city on Sunday.
Revenue officers seized 33,000 unstamped cigarettes and over 24 kgs of 'roll your own' tobacco, with the assistance of detector dog Eva during the search.
The seizure represented a potential loss of over €32,000 to the Exchequer.
The Echo reports that two men and two women, all Irish nationals, were questioned.
Investigations are ongoing.
