The city is set to be revitalized over the next 10 years with a €10b investment.
The City Council has announced that €2.5 billon will be invested within the next 2 years.
1.9 billion euro has been allocated to housing, while 185 million euro will be spent on rail and the planning of the Cork Luas and a further 190 million will be invested in the Cork Docklands.
Speaking to RedFM News, City Council’s Chief Executive Ann Doherty says says the city needs to match Cork's growing population:
"So today we were talking about the transport infrastructure that we will need to put in place to connect people together but also the other things you need, housing, amenities, cultural and arts facilities to bring together a city that's attractive."
