GE Healthcare has announced a €132 million euro investment in their site at Carrigtwohill.
The expansion will see the construction of a new facility to manufacture contrast media, the dye used for scanning patients to facilitate diagnosis by physicians.
Construction will begin next month, with over 250 construction jobs expected to be created.
The new facility will enable 25 million more patient doses per year of contrast media by the end of 2027
