The Department of Higher Education have announced over €2.75 million in funding for MTU and UCC.
Minister Simon Harris this morning announced a €22 million financial and mental health support fund for third level institutes across the country.
MTU is to get €812,000 for student assistance fund and over €300,000 for student mental health.
UCC will get over €1.26 million to help students who are struggling financially and €375,000 for mental health supports.
Last week the Students' Union at UCC set up a Go Fund Me campaign after their food bank ran out of food within an hour of opening.
The campaign has raised over €24,000 since last Wednesday.
