€325,000 is to be spent on a new viewing platform for Youghal lighthouse
Plans are afoot for the lighthouse, which has been described as “one of the jewels” of “Youghal’s tourist crown”, to be opened up to the public .
The works are expected to start towards the end of the year and be completed by the middle of 2025
Cork County Council took ownership of the lighthouse in 2019
