An east Cork hotel tops the list of earnings by tourist accommodation which received state money to house Ukrainian refugees.
A significant proportion of hotels and B&Bs in coastal counties including Cork are being used by the State - raising concerns about where the refugees will live during next year's tourism season.
The Irish Examiner is reporting today that more than 617 million euro has been spent on accommodation and services for refugees in Ireland so far this year.
The Irish Examiner has published data which details the contracts between the State and hotels and B&Bs where refugees were homed between April and September this year.
Hotels, B&Bs, apartments, and holiday homes in tourist hotspots are accommodating the majority of Ukrainians.
The deals agreed with B&Bs and hotels range from €20,000 up to €12.5m.
The Quality Hotel in Youghal is the top hotel earner in the country, according to the paper, with a contract for 12.5 million euro.
While Trabolgan Holiday Centre is the sixth, earning 4.4 million.
Old convents and student accommodation in Cork and Dublin also have contracts with the Government.
Around 5-and-a-half thousand refugees are staying in rooms or houses owned by private individuals.
The Government has relaunched its campaign targeting the owners of 20,000 holiday homes across the country to help ease the pressure.
It was announced in last month's budget, that the recognition payment for those providing a property or a room to Ukrainian refugees is to double to €800 per month from December.
