The Emergency Department at Cork University Hospital is reporting that it has been exceptionally busy over the past number of weeks.
In a statement to RedFM News, it says that this is due to a large number of very ill medical patients requiring admission resulting in some patients experiencing long delays in the ED.
Hospital management have requested that, where appropriate, the public should instead contact their GP or South Doc and explore all other options available before attending the Emergency Department once their needs are not urgent.
