The Tánaiste has opened an Emergency Humanitarian Support Scheme for small businesses affected by recent flooding in Cork City and Wexford.
Last month, some businesses were hit twice by flooding in just three days as Cork was hit by heavy rain.
The Council activated two major clean-up operations last month after more than 55mm of rain fall across the city on one day, nearly four times the 15mm predicted.
The Furniture Centre Blackpool and a number of premises in Turners Cross and along Douglas Street were among the businesses whose premises were damaged by flood waters.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says the support scheme will help businesses, sports clubs and community groups who were unable to secure flood insurance.
