The incident happened close to the Oven's Bar at the end of the N22 bypass
Three units of the fire service from Ballincollig and Anglesea Street, as well as Gardai and the national Ambulance Service responded to the incident just after 11am.
Gardaí at Anglesea street have confirmed to RedFM News that one person has died in the collision.
The person is the 9th to die on Cork roads since the start of the year.
Motorists are advised to slow down on approach and avoid the area if possible.
