A large crowd from the Ukrainian community in Cork gathered in the park and sang their national anthem as the blue and yellow flag was hoisted.
The Lord Mayor of the City Cllr Colm Kelleher organised the anti-war protest today and tied a yellow ribbon to the gates of the park as a symbol of hope and also laid a wreath in front of the flag pole.
Nadiya is from Ternopil in Western Ukraine and has lived in Ireland since 2016.
