Environment Minister Eamon Ryan says the families of the R116 helicopter crew who died during a rescue mission in 2017 won’t face large legal bills.
RTE reported the relatives of the helicopter pilot, co-pilot and winchman face paying hundreds of thousands in legal bills during hearings of a state review board.
The Green Party leader says this won’t happen.
"That should not, in any way distract from the core issue here which is to recognise the huge loss, those families served the loved ones who, who are lost. That is, and looking at why and what we can do to make sure it does not help again, that has to be the centre of our attention, not the league because that would not be an issue in the coming days, that will be resolved very quickly."
