The ESB is warning that a significant number of people living in the county may be without power over the weekend
10,000 customers in the county remain off the power grid following last nights storm down from this morning's peak of 30,000
In the city 250 homes and businesses are without power but the ESB is hopeful that they will have their power restored by this evening
Jim Hernan of ESB Networks told RedFM News that it is easier to restore power to areas where the storm damage is not as significant
"A lot of the damage that we have in closer to the city or the suburbs where the damage is not as significant, a lot of those customers will be back on tonight. And then looking at the broader picture in Cork County., a lot of our customers will be back tonight, but there will be a significant number of customers without supply into Saturday, and potentially Sunday as well"
