Ex-Debenhams employees 'Don't Care' That Liquidator KPMG Has Withdrawn €1 Million Redundancy Deal

Eight staff occupied their former workplace on Patrick Street by climbing through a window this morning and say they will not be leaving until Thursday.

Gardaí have met with the former staff and have reportedly told them that they will be allowed to remain in the building on condition they stay in the staff canteen.

Six people were arrested at the Debenhams store on Henry Street in Dublin earlier after staff and supporters also gained entry to their former workplace.

KPMG has issued a statement in the past few minutes and says no further settlement agreements will be negotiated by them for Debenhams workers after it became clear that the current offer is not acceptable to the former employees
