Families of residents at a Cork nursing home say they will not give up in their fight for more funding for the sector.
A large group representing residents at Beaumont nursing home staged a protest outside the Dail yesterday appealing to the Taoiseach to urgently intervene in the dispute.
53 residents of the nursing home may have to leave unless an agreement between management and the National Treatment Purchase Fund can be reached to meet cost of living increases.
The families are fearful if urgent action is not undertaken by Government to resolve the issue immediately, these residents will be removed from their care homes with uncertainty surrounding where they will be re-homed.
Speaking to RedFM News Marianne Lee, who's Mum is in the home, says her mother has nowhere to go.
"We're very worried that she may have to leave the home.
"She's settled there, she's made friends there. It's her home now. This is what she knows.
"It's just going to be devastating for her."
