A family in Gurranabraher is spending around €120 a month on water because they can't trust their tap.
Residents on the northside of the city say they've been dealing with discoloured water issues for close to 2 years.
Uisce Eireann says it's aware of the problem and has begun flushing works and plans to replace old pipes that are causing the water to become discoloured.
Speaking to RedFM News, Roy O'Driscoll from Gurranabraher says he can't give his children the water that's coming out of the tap:
"We're spending at least €30 a week on bottled water. That's for everything that we use water, let alone just drinking water. So we're spending the bones of €120 a month tomorrow which is extraordinary amount of money and in the cost of living crisis I suppose. We just we just can't really afford to keep sending it to where we are but I wouldn't risk giving my children the water that's coming out."
