The family member of a nursing home resident in Belgooly says the lack of information surrounding its closure is infuriating.
In August, Aperee Living said residents had 6 months to find new accommodation but after a recent HIQA inspection the nursing home said they would now be closing on the 24th of October.
The report raised concerns about the residents finances and fire safety issues at the home and Gardaí told RedFM news they have received a referral from HIQA in relation to a number of nursing homes but a criminal investigation has NOT begun.
Aperee Livings say they're working with the HSE to find new accommodation for the residents.
Siobhan O'Donovan's mother is a resident of the nursing home in Belgooly.
Speaking to RedFM News, Siobhan says she needs to know if her mother has a place to live next month:
"I've spent countless hours trying to chase up what's happening. It's just exhausting and I still have nowhere for my mother to go. So the lack of communication is the thing that is now creating more stress and strain than anything else".
