Family members who have lost loved ones on the country's roads are coming together in Dublin this morning to raise awareness about a global day of action for road safety.
This Sunday is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
18 people have died on Cork roads so far this year.
The Road Safety Authority's David Martin says its important to remember the people who have tragically lost their lives on the roads:
"We have special ceremony today to launch World Day of Remembrance and we're bringing together, families and friends who have lost loved ones, our suffered serious injuries over the years. It acknowledges and recognises that tragic loss of the millions of people on the roads."
