The family of a young boy from the Northside of the city who was struck by a hit-and-run motorist last month have appealed to the driver to come forward.
13-year-old Jack Duggan suffered severe injuries in the incident on Blarney Road on the evening of Monday, October 3rd as he was walking with his best friend near St Vincent's GAA Clubhouse.
Jack's sister Donna says the motorist left the scene after hitting her younger brother, knocking him off a footpath and up in the air. He landed on his head and initially he jumped up and said he felt fine and was sent home from A&E after a check up, however the full severity of his injury became clear the following day as a large haematoma developed on his forehead.
Donna says Jack's condition deteriorated as the days went by and a week later he had to undergo emergency surgery at Cork University Hospital.
