Fashion retailer Next is going to manage Gap's business in the UK and Ireland.
The American company - which decided to shut all its stores here - is forming a joint venture.
Its online store will be operated by Next in an attempt to return the brand to growth.
The GAP store on Opera Lane in the city was closed following the chain's initial announcement.
