The father of an 8-year-old year old boy who was killed while cycling through a pedestrian crossing says it's hard to move on from the tragedy.

André Castro Ladeiro died after he was knocked off his bike in Carrigaline in 2023.

Last week, 62-year-old John Moynihan of Parkanillane, Kilnamartyra, Macroom, the driver of the car, was sentenced to 3 years in jail with one year suspended.

André's father Cesar (SAY-SAR) told the Neil Prendeville Show he will never recover from the heartbreak of losing his son:

"Until now it's hard to get past it, but somehow life still goes on but the images and the tragedy will remain."
