The Finance Minister says the vast majority of the warehoused debt during Covid has been repaid to Revenue Commissioners
Revenue's extension of tax repayments expired at the start of the month with many business owners already struggling with rising rents and energy costs along with an increase in the minimum wage
This week Cork Business Association warned that the warehoused debt repayments could cripple some business owners
However speaking to RedFM News, Minister Michael McGrath says the vast majority of the debt has been repaid and other businesses have agreed payment structures
"I want businesses to be able to avail of the 0% interest rate that I announced back in February, and also the enhanced flexibilities that Revenue Commissioners have provided, but that does mean that they engage and they now need to do it very urgently, or they run the real risk of missing out on those benefits. But most businesses have and we will publish the updated figures shortly"
