A fisherman has lost his life in a freak accident on a trawler off the southwest coast.
It's believed 53 year-old Moses Odonkor, who was originally from Ghana, suffered a blow to the head, while working on a trawler off the coast of Cork yesterday morning.
His crew mates tried without avail to revive him and his death is being treated as tragic accident
The authorities were contacted and the ‘Boy Jason’ trawler made for shore arriving in Castletownbere, in West Cork this morning
A post mortem examination is due to be carried out at Cork University Hospital
