Five men sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Thomas Dooley

Five men have been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 42-year-old Thomas Dooley.

The father-of-seven was attacked and killed at Rath cemetery in Tralee on the 5th of October 2022.

In a victim impact statement read into the record by Detective Sgt Ernie Henderson of Tralee Garda Station, the victim's wife Siobhan described the 'horror' she and her four youngest children witnessed on the day Thomas Dooley was murdered.

She described her husband as a doting father and grandfather and said their lives would never be the same.

Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring imposed a mandatory life sentence on 42-year-old Daniel Dooley of An Carraigin, Connolly Park, Tralee, 29-year-old Michael Dooley, 43-year-old Thomas Dooley Senior and 21-year-old Thomas Dooley Junior - all of the Halting Site Carrigrohane Road Cork and the victim’s brother 36-year-old Patrick Dooley of Arbutus Grove, Killarney.
