Residents at an estate in Mogeely are furious today and say their pleas for help went unanswered as flood waters approached their homes yesterday morning.
Around 30 homes at Gleann Fia are severely damaged, with residents this afternoon gutting the bottom floors of their homes to stop the damp from rising.
The timber framed houses suffered extensive damage and locals say they have received no help from the Council.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tracey Swayne says residents phoned the emergency services on Wednesday morning to warn them that the flood was approaching their homes:
