Flood victims in East Cork are gathering a year on after Storm Babet.

It's a year today since hundreds of homes and businesses in Midleton flooded.

The town has spent the last 12 months rebuilding itself and calling for permanent measures to be put in place.

Speaking to RedFM News, Caroline Leahy from the Midleton and East Cork Flood Protection Group said people are gathering to acknowledge what's been an extremely tough year:

"The purpose of it really is to gather a bit of the community together to talk about, you know, the different kind of things they've gone through for the last twelve months, because as a group,  we found it really helpful to be able to talk to each other, because it's been an extremely tough year since the town flooded last year in Storm Babet."
